Hunter x Hunter, Vol. 4

Gon, a plucky young boy, embarks on a quest to find his father which leads him into a world filled with crazy adventures. Hunters are a special type of individuals who are dedicated to finding treasures, magical beasts, and even other people. However, in order to pursue such endeavors, one must obtain a license, and only a small fraction of individuals, less than one in a hundred thousand, are able to pass the rigorous qualification exam. Those who do pass gain access to restricted areas, a wealth of information, and the prestigious title of a Hunter.

The fourth exam unfolds as Hunter hopefuls attempt to earn points by stealing each other's badges. Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio fall into a trap intended for another applicant and must confront a pit filled with poisonous snakes. When Leorio is bitten, Gon bravely faces the snakes to retrieve the antidote and a badge. Eventually, the friends reach the culmination of the exams and partake in the ultimate "reverse tournament"- where the winner of each round automatically passes the Hunter exam, while the defeated continue to compete against each other until the final candidate remaining fails the exam. It is explicitly stated that killing an opponent results in immediate failure. The question remains, will Killua's rage hinder his dream of becoming a Hunter?
